QUESTION: Hi! We purchased a Pan abode cedar home that was built in the 70s. The interior walls are in good condition, no rot, however there are some water drip stains, some fading, and scratches. I sanded one board in the bathroom to see how it would look and then applied Watco rejuvenating oil. It looks really good but I am wondering if this a good product to apply. We want the interior cleaned up and looking nice. I don’t want a shiny look, do I need to apply a sealant? Or would just the rejuvenating oil or stain be sufficient to keep the interior walls nice? Thank you! :)
ANSWER: I am not familiar with that product. I normally recommend some sort of sealer on the interior so that the dust and dirt cannot get into the wood fiber. You want something that is easily wiped off.
