I am writing to tell you how pleased I am with the work done on my home by ALR in February of this year. I was very nervous when I saw two very young men arrive & start cutting into the side of my house w/chain saws! As I watched them work I was amazed & impressed by the skill they demonstrated. It did not take long for me to realize these fellas knew their stuff. Unfortunately Andy had a death in his family & had to leave a day & a half into the job. Drew continued on alone & I have to say I was & still am very impressed by this young man. He is a great reflection on your company. He arrived early each day & worked diligently all day now, sleet & below freezing temperatures. His attitude remained positive even when he ended up doing much more of this job than planned (and had to stay away from home much longer than planned). He was always pleasant - in spite of my constant pestering - taking photos and videotaping every little thing he did. I'd bet he hadn't been photographed that much in his entire life! He never seemed to mind explaining to me what he was doing - in a way that I could understand. When I told him how impressed I was by his skill with that chain say - he told me a chain say was a "precision tool". Obviously, in the right hands, it is. Everyone I dealt with from ALR was courteous & professional (Ryan Sigsby, Andy, & Drew Nelson). I just want to say thanks for helping me take care of my home. I apologize for my tardiness in writing this letter, it is in no way a reflection on the quality of work done by your folks.

Your staff, Mr. Dan Perry and Mr. Mike Cool, came in and provided both half log and full log replacement for portions of our home. We would like to comment that we were very impressed by the work done by Mr. Perry and Mr. Cool. Both were very knowledgeable, very professional, and very hard working, even while dealing with temperatures of over 100 degrees! Both exhibited a level of skill and craftsmanship seldom seen today. We would wholeheartedly recommend and endorse these gentlemen and their work. We are very please with the appearance, but even more the functionality, of our home. The hot weather has turned cold now, and the weather-tightness of the home is even more apparent. We have had many positive comments from friends and neighbors, saying how great the house looks now. We would be happy to be used as a reference for other potential clients you may have. Thanks so much!

Since we bought our home in March of 2003, we have had to have several companies come out to fix odds and ends that the past owners let slide...ie swimming pool, hot tub, tv cable, roofing, electric, heat pump, bath tub, etc, etc, etc. Out of all the companies that we have dealt with, we are still most impressed with yours. From your initial visit, your promptness in meeting the timeline you set, the efficiency and politeness of your workers and their clean-up, your company's willingness to answer questions and educate us, your companies desire to please and meet our needs, your prompt follow-up...I cannot say enough about what a great job you guys did. I was extremely pleased that I could get in touch with the boss and not have to deal with machines and incompetents. Our only regret is that more companies out there do not follow the same work ethic to please their customers that yours does. We would call you back in a heartbeat or highly recommend you to anyone else. Thanks again!!!

This letter is to thank you and your personnel for the excellent job and attention to detail in repairing my log home. The results have made my friends and family more than satisfied. You are most fortunate to have Daniel Perry and Drew Nelson on the job as representatives of your company. Despite having the wrong materials upon arrival, and having to work in temperatures exceeding 95 degrees (heat index of more than 115), they continued to smile and maintained a pleasant disposition. Both were knowledgeable and readily answered any and all questions regarding repairs. If all on your payroll are of this caliber, you are most fortunate in this day and age. A belated but no less heartfelt - and official - thank you for the gift of the original log section removed from the Schmidt-Burnham house on Willow Road in the course of your expert and quite wonderful restoration a couple of months ago. While I am certainly no authority in any aspect of 19th century construction (my field is Early American pressed glass), and can be considered only a bystander (albeit a decidedly interested one!) in the project, I must tell you that I have been so impressed, not only with the visual and emotional results of the house (which feel so right) but with what I detected as a reverence that you both brought to your obvious skills. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed our frequent conversations during your sojourn here and felt I made two new friends in the process of witnessing your remarkable transformation. You may already know that the official, Village-wide opening of the log house is scheduled for Sunday, September 10, 2006. Barring anything unforeseen, several family members and I will be present, and it would be wonderful if you were there as well and I were able to introduce them to you. Again, many thanks for helping bring a significant part of my heritage to life.

I just wanted to let you know the workers did an excellent job and the house looks super. You can tell them they left a garden rake here, now I know they will be returning later! I hope you can give me an estimate regarding the chinking of the end logs outside and the corners and purlins and fireplace inside. I really want to do that if it is financially feasible and you can schedule it this year. Mike mentioned half logging the garage and I believe he will also give you some measurements on that, but I have not really decided yet that is in my budget. Thanks again for all your help, and tell the guys how much I appreciate their good work, I hope I didn't give them too hard a time! If I don't hear from you in a couple of weeks I may bug you again. My internet service will be out for a few days, but will be up and running again soon.

I just want to say how pleased our family is with the replacement log work on our cabin. Once the finish is applied, they will all blend and appear to be original; pretty good for a cabin built in 1940. Alex and Mike did a fantastic job in replacing our rotten logs at our lake cabin in St Helen, MI. They arrived on a timely basis each day, put in strong work days and made sure all work performed was completed in a satisfactory manner. We purchased a log home that was in need of log repair and replacement. After obtaining multiple quotes, we opted to go with American Log Restoration. OMG. We are soooo happy with the job Mike and Alex did replacing our rotten logs! This is our third time repairing parts of our log home, but the first time that it was done correctly. The guys rolled up mid-day on Tuesday, unloaded, and worked until dark. They worked sun-up to sun-down on Wednesday. On Thursday, they got here at sun-up and were finished by noon. They loaded up, cleaned up so that you could not tell they had ever been here, and headed home. We have NEVER had a crew work so continuously and do such a great job. Thank you so much. We will definitely recommend your company to anyone else needing work done on a log structure.
