QUESTION:  My friend is living in a log cabin home in Park City, UT. He sent me a picture that shows large rusty nails that seem to be reversing themselves out of the holes into which they were hammered. This is happening in many areas of the cabin. What causes this? Should he just hammer the nails back in?

ANSWER:  Yes, they should be hammered back in.  This is caused from the movement of the home from temperature change.
