Assessment

Repairs
The repair type will depend on the extent of the damage to your log cabin. For minor repairs, we can cut out shorter sections of log and just re-face the logs. It’s not always necessary to replace the whole length of the log if just a portion is rotted. When doing smaller repairs, it’s important to make sure you are removing all the rotted wood. We can also replace just the log ends or log “crowns” as they are sometimes called. These ends will sometimes need to be replaced farther back to provide adequate structural support but in some situations, just the end can be replaced. Severe log repairs may require full log replacement, half log replacement, or a combination of both.
